Las Lomas Coffee, Ground

This incredibly unique offering from Finca Las Lomas in San Marcos, Guatemala comes from the farm of German and Jose Aguirre, who have 60 acres of shade grown coffee at high elevation (1800m). For this lot, the coffees were processed in two different ways, some washed and some using an anaerobic fermentation process, and then blended to create a fruity, complex take on traditional Guatemalan coffees.

In the roastery, we were really drawn to this coffee because of the surprising tropical fruit notes this coffee offered. Often, fully anaerobic coffees can be sharp and overwhelming with funky, boozy tastes. With Las Lomas, it is clear that this coffee was fermented and processed with care- and when mixed with washed coffees from the same farm, it elevates this to a truly spectacular coffee.
